Singularis was created under Consorcio Madroño’s Strategic Plan for 2009-2013, as a web portal which offers the most representative digitised works from the ancient books collection of the University Libraries forming part of Consorcio Madroño, under an open access status. Using this portal, you can consult digitised copies of a wide range of materials, including maps, layouts, drawings, manuscripts, incunabula and printed documents.

The portal’s contents will gradually be expanded each year by adding four collections, each belonging to one of the universities in Consorcio Madroño.

The main purpose of the Singularis portal is to increase the visibility of and access to the heritage collections belonging to the participating University Libraries.

Technical description of the project

The Singularis portal lists each work in an embedded browser that can be used to download, print, move to the next page, return to the previous page, select a page, zoom in and move about within a page. The original item found in each page consists of an image in .jpeg format with a resolution of 150 dpi.
